Transport Canada requires registration in the Canadian Register of Vessels of all vessels which will have a marine mortgage or will require a reserved name or will travel outside of Canada. All commercial vessels with a gross tonnage of 15 or more and powered by motors of 10 horsepower or more also need to be registered.
You may choose to register your vessel in the Canadian Register of Vessels even if the above criteria do not apply. Typically, registration proves legal ownership of your boat, could be used as a security for a mortgage and enables you to fly the Canadian flag on your boat.
Please complete this form, pay the processing fee and upload the necessary documents. We will take care of the rest by completing all necessary Transport Canada forms, paying the Transport Canada registration fee, and following up with Transport Canada on your behalf to ensure your boat is registered promptly. If you have a copy of a pre-purchase survey, we would be happy to fill out this form for you. Simply email us a copy of the survey and your phone number and we will be in touch within one business day.
